Dear Sir / Madam,

Knocktall Wood – Woodland Creation – by Borgue, Dumfries & Galloway

I am writing to introduce myself. My name is Alasdair Martin, I’m a Forest Manager working for a company based in North Yorkshire but living and working mainly in Scotland. One of our clients has purchased land at Upper Senwick Farm, by Borgue, this year with a view to carrying out a woodland creation project on some of the land which was purchased. The intention is to create a mainly productive commercial woodland, along with some areas of native mixed broadleaves.I am in the very early stages of formulating plans for the design of a proposed scheme which would involve a Forestry Grant Scheme application to Scottish Forestry. We are undertaking various surveys on the land and will be doing so over the next few months. As soon as I have an initial draft of a woodland design I will forward it to you, if that’s ok with you, as I’d like to receive any input you might have from the earliest stage in developing our plans, before I think about submitting anything formally to Scottish Forestry for consideration.I hope you are happy for me to have contacted you, and please feel free to contact me at any time. If you want any more information from me then please do not hesitate to contact me by email or on my mobile, both of which are at the foot of this email.

I have attached a copy of the boundary plan for you to view.
I look forward to hearing from you and will be in touch when I’ve produced a draft plan.

Kind regards

Alasdair Martin
