We are pleased to announce that we have five new members of Borgue Community Council from Friday, 11th March 2022. As we still have less than our allotted maximum of 11 Community Councillors, there does not need to be an election. The new members are:

Anne Bannatyne
Christine Clement
Syd Davidson
Liz Matear
Angela Metcalfe

Carol Ryall, our Treasurer is also now confirmed as a Community Councillor after previously being co-opted onto the Borgue Community Council.

There will be a Zoom meeting to discuss the High Nunton Solar Farm planning application on Thursday, 17th February at 7 p.m. This meeting is being organised by Borgue Comunity Council but is not a Community Council meeting. It will be chaired by a representative from PAS (Planning Aid for Scotland). The decision to use Zoom for this meeting was due to the current wave of COVID infection in the Borgue area that would prevent many people from attending a meeting in person.

The planning application for High Nunton Solar Farm can be accessed on the D&G Council Planning web site by searching for the reference: 21/2490/FUL. Click here for a summary of information about the project on the Borgue Community Council web site. The closing date for consultation as posted on the D&G Council site is 22nd February 2021 but we talked to the planning department and we were told that submissions can be received up to Friday, 25th February.

More information will be provided before the meeting.

tackling poverty heading image

To make a positive difference to those experiencing poverty, a Tackling Poverty Reference Group was formed. This includes, and is increasingly driven by, a group of volunteers with direct experience of living in poverty. The volunteers come from across the region and a variety of groups involved in supporting issues around poverty.

We are looking for new members to expand our group.

Could You help us make a positive difference by supporting issues around poverty in Dumfries and Galloway?

If you would like more information or would be interested in becoming a volunteer with the Dumfries and Galloway Tackling Poverty Group. Please contact us to register your interest.
