You might have noticed a bit of work going on on the road past Plunton Mains.
The BT OpenReach team are burying an armoured cable that will contain fibre for connecting to Superfast broadband. The underground cable will run from Plunton House to Newfield as there are no telegraph poles.
The pole in the field at Plunton House will house a cabinet for the fibre broadband and the connections will radiate out from there. It is not yet clear whether those onward connections will all be fibre or copper.
Although the fibre is expected to be laid within the next 6 weeks, we do not know when it will be connected up by BT.
Fibre cables have now been run along the road from Chapelton to Ingleston (22 March 2018)
